The Best Things to Happen in 2020...

So 2020 has ultimately been a wash. Right now, the score board reads 2020- 748,489,347 Tierney- 2. But I'm okay, cause the two points that I've been able to score are where pretty good! The best things that have happened in all of 2020 happened in the same month: the release of Hamilton on Disney+ and Taylor Swift releasing her 8th studio album.

Okay, I'm not going to act like I had been this giant Hamilton fan for the last five years. I had listened to a handful of the songs, but I'm a visual person and I just couldn't sit still long enough to listen to the whole soundtrack. I always envisioned myself seeing it eventually, and when it was announced that the Pro-shot would be hitting the big screen in 2021 I had already mentally purchased my ticket! When the pandemic hit and Disney changed the plans and decided to release on Disney+ on July 3rd, to say I was excited would be an understatement. I knew I would love it. I love musicals and Hamilton has received so much hype. Little did I know that it was going to take over my brain. I'm serious. If I'm not listening to the soundtrack, I'm watching it. If I'm not watching it, I'm reading about it or watching youtube videos about it.

I'm not claiming that I used to be a genius, but my brain is now useless because now all it contains are Hamilton lyrics and obscure facts about the show. I've been encouraging everyone I know to watch it, and honestly, if you aren't obsessed with the Helpless/ Satisfied portion of the show, I just don't know if we can be friends. One point for Tierney.

The second best thing to happen during the quarantine was the surprise announcement that Taylor Swift would be dropping her 8th studio album! I'm a huge Swiftie. I've been listening to her music since I was in elementary school, and her music has truly been the soundtrack to my life! I was obsessed with the Lover album that she released last summer, and I was more than ready to attend her concert this summer until it got postponed (Thanks, COVID).

Then out of the blue, I wake to wake up to the announcement that her new album would be dropping that night! I dropped everything (not that I had a lot going on at the moment) and mentally prepared myself for the album that was going to save 2020.

Two points for me:)
